UPDATED April 12, 2026: This post originally described the "Three Doors" pricing model under consideration. The final model is simpler: €299/year for all Bed programs (permanent access, no renewal), or €24.90/month × 12 (same total, no subscription). Both options get lifetime access. The philosophy remains: accessible pricing that respects constraint.
Online education has a pricing problem. Most platforms price at market rate — €500, €1,000, €3,000 — and then bolt on a scholarship application for the people who can't afford it. You have to prove your need. You have to click the button that says "I can't pay full price." The shame is built in.
We didn't want to build that. So we built something different.
One door. Two payment options.
Spooniversity has one price page. It shows two ways to pay. No tiers. No labels. No "regular price" crossed out. Just: here's what it costs, and here's how you can pay.
- →Pay Once: €299/year. All Bed programs, lifetime access, certificate on completion.
- →Pay at Your Pace: €24.90/month × 12. Same total (€299), same access, auto-stops after 12 payments. No subscription. No surprise charges.
Both doors lead to the same room. The same lessons. The same community. The same certificate. The price you pay doesn't change what you get.
Why €299/year
We looked at what disability income actually looks like. In the US, SSDI averages about $1,580 per month. UK Universal Credit limited capability is around £390. Hungarian disability support is around €340. €299/year is achievable with planning on any of those — about 2 weeks of US SSDI.
Market rate bootcamps charge €3,000 to €5,000 for programmes in this space. Spooniversity is roughly 10% of that. But you're not paying per track — you get all programs (now and future) in one price. Bedcoders has 120 lessons. BedOps has 34. More coming.
Why the installment plan isn't a subscription
For people on variable income — disability benefits, freelance work, precarious employment — a single €299 charge can be impossible, even if you can eventually afford it. The 12-month installment plan removes that barrier.
Here's what matters: after 12 payments, you're done. There is no 13th charge. No cancellation required. You own permanent access. You're not paying for access each month — you're paying for access once, at a pace your income can sustain.
Progress never expires
This matters more than the price. You can pay once and take four years to finish. You can pay at your pace, pause when you're crashing, come back when you're ready. There are no deadlines. A flare day is not a failure. A crash month is not a reason to start over.
We built this for people with unpredictable bodies. The structure reflects that. Not as an accommodation. As the design.
Bedcoders (Code from Bed) is open now. 120 lessons, 4 modules. Start free with BedCamp (no signup), then join when you're ready. €299/year or €24.90/month. Your progress never expires.
