Delete Your Data
You have the right to request deletion of your personal data under GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation). This page explains what data we can delete and how to request it.
What data can be deleted?
- Posts and comments you created in campus rooms and courses
- Presence logs showing when you were active in rooms
- Direct messages (if applicable in future)
- Account metadata (name, email, profile)
- Progress and enrollment records (on request)
What data is retained for legal reasons?
For audit trails and fraud prevention, we retain:
- Transaction logs (payment records, required by law)
- Account creation timestamps
- Login history (7-day retention)
How to request data deletion
1. Email us directly
Send a GDPR data deletion request to privacy@spooniversity.org with:
- Your name and email
- "I request deletion of my personal data"
- Any account details you remember
2. Timeline
We process deletion requests within 30 days of receipt, as required by GDPR. You'll receive confirmation when your data is deleted.
3. What happens after deletion
Your posts will be removed from campus rooms. Your account will be deactivated. Payment records are retained for legal compliance but delinked from your identity.
Questions?
Email us at hello@spooniversity.org — Spooniversity doesn't have a dedicated Data Protection Officer (not required for a small operator like us), so data protection questions go straight to the same inbox as everything else. Read our full Privacy Policy.
